Here is my new favorite hobby.... I never thought I could like something so much! Thanks to my Grandmother and mom, I have a sewing machine!! (and a nice table that goes with it!)This was my grandma's old machine and somehow I ended up with it. My mom helped me set it all up and taught me the essentials to get started- and here I am spending too much money on fabric and making too many blankets that we don't need! But it is so fun!! And I am not very good- but I have to admit, instead of blog stocking- I stock crafter blogs! There are so many amazing, talented people out there and it's a little ridiculous how I think that I could maybe do all the fun things that they are doing! I love looking at the fun fabrics and quilts, and just plain old "STUFF" that these people whip up! Maybe with a few lessons (okay, lets be realistic- A LOT of lessons, I could learn how to do something other than sew blankets!) for now, I am very happy doing blankets- here a few I've done- the fabric is so soft and so cute!!

table runner made with all scraps! (thanks to my amazing mom!)

I have to admit that this is my favorite blanket! My first ever project where I figured out the measurments, cut it out, and sewed it ALL BY MYSELF!!

is it bad that I want another baby just so I can find cute fabric and make some more blankets!!?
up next- maybe a bag, curtains, a tent for the boys....who knows?!!! But I am excited!

Happy New Year!! Welcome 2009!! I wanted to post some pics throughout the year.

Some of the highlights of 2008:

  • Dax was born! Baby boy number 3!! February 5th- 8lbs 14 oz-
  • We went on a family trip to Hawaii to visit Cassie, Brett and Taylor in April.
  • A fun summer chasing kids, Swimming in Curtis's pool, Lagoon, Bear Lake, and St. George...
  • Curtis and Megan got married! Welcome to the family Megan! We love you!
  • Austin started kindergarten! And Cade started preschool!
  • Dave and I got to go on a trip to Mexico with no kids....!!

We had a mostly great 2008, and a few trials and some learning experiences! But we have learned a lot and feel very blessed for everything that has happened in our lives. We are excited for a new year- I'm sure this year will be a little quieter than last year- and we're looking forward to it!!

Love you all- happy new year!

viva la MEXICO!!!

Christmas morning- Bruce and Shawna came over to see what the boys got- and Dax just loves his papa! He won't even look at anyone else when he's around!
It's a family Tradition to do puzzles at my moms around Christmas time- The boys are always addicted to that table! It's always so nice when the puzzle gets finished! Brandon and Dave

Dax in his "sheep ears" for the Manger story. We have too many kids and not enough costumes- so my mom made sheep ears and donkey ears- What a cheese ball! He has got the cutest- sweetest personality. He is so happy all the time. I can't believe he is almost one!!

I made the boys these costumes! I got my grandma's old sewing machine and it has been so fun to learn how to sew! The boys liked them!

Merry Christmas and happy new year!! Christmas was a blast with the boys! We had a fun Christmas Eve at the Tidwells- a yummy dinner, lots of presents and sugar cookie decorating with the kids- and Christmas morning Cade woke up at 7:30- so our day started early! The "fav" gifts were: Heeley's (Austin got them and he is already awesome on them!) Light Sabers (like we need anymore of those)- and of course Legos. Poor Dax got jipped! He did like playing in the wrapping paper! And I did put some new batteries in an old piano- and he loves that! After gifts here we went down to my Moms and had a big breakfast and then more gifts and lots of crazy kids running around!
And- the day after Christmas Dave and I hopped on a plane and went to Mexico! We had SO MUCH FUN!! We went with my Aunt and Uncle and their family. We stayed in Mazatlan and it was a much needed vacation! We slept in, relaxed, ate lots of food and laughed so hard! Thanks Jas and Vic for a fabulous week! We love you guys!! Vicki took most of the pictures- (750 to be exact!!) but here a few for now!

The day we got there we went to an orphanage and took some gifts to the kids there. It was the most AMAZING thing I have ever done! The kids were so cute! From the minute we got there they just clung to us! The ages ranged from 1- 30 and it was so fun to spend a few hours with them. There were these twin girls that were 2 maybe 3 years old- named Judith and Edith- and Judith was my little buddy the whole time. She was so cute and it was sad having to say goodbye!

I am a TRUE believer in vacations! (with no kids!) It was so nice to get to spend time with Dave with no other worries! He is truley the love of my life- He is so fun to be with- even though he thinks he is so funny ALL THE TIME!! We got to go and visit Culiacan- it was the first area he served in on his mission. Even though he thinks I didn't like it, it was really cool to see his apartment (it was disgusting!) and see the streets he spent most of his time walking!

This is down town Culiacan in front of a big Cathedral. It was built the same time as the Salt Lake Temple. Me, Hailee, Preslee, Macee and Jake.

my favorite part of the trip....laying by the pool with girls!! Pina Colada's, the sun and a pool.

This is Judith. The girl from the orphanage. What a sweetie!
