a face only a mother could love....

seriously, I love this boy so much- but I am constantly having to remind myself of that love! He is such a boy, rowdy, crazy, into everything (i mean everything), loud-(does not know how to whisper) .....etc. Just the other day he was at my mom's and found an aerosol can of sun screen. I was searching for him everywhere and he was up in her bathroom spraying the whole bottle out. It smelled so bad I couldn't even breath- there was a fog over the whole room because he sprayed so much ( SORRY MOM!) (we're talking oil in the carpet, it took the paint off the walls... and probably caused brain damage, like he needs any of that!:)) and that same day we heard "thuds" coming from the laundry room- we followed the sound and when we opened the laundry chute- it was filled with shoes and tons of clean clothes- him and his cousin Braden had a blast dropping anything and EVERYTHING down this chute! We've had a long summer- He loves to be outside and one day he came in with no pants or "big boys" on and so I asked, "where are your pants?"
C "there just right there" as he points to the floor
J "why don't you have your pants on?"
C "oh, I just pooed outside..."
J trying not to laugh, "you WHAT?"
C "oh, I just pooed outside..."

I opened the door, and sure enough, he had pooed on our deck- Lovely!

on a more positive note- he is potty trained (he loves to pee outside, but for the most part he always goes in the potty.), He loves to ride his bike and everyday he tells me, "guess what mom. I can do a backflip on my bike..." ? He loves to dress himself- which usually means no "big boys" and just basketball shorts- (but hey, he can do it by himself, I love how he backs himself up until he's propped up against something for balance while he puts his legs in. saves me some time!), He's very friendly and talks to anyone who will talk to him. I always catch him outside talking to the neighbors- he likes to help them weed their yard- and he LOVES to help clean toilets with Katie (he calls her "lady"- so cute!)

I really hope I can make it through this next "phase" of life with him- he tries my patience almost every minute of everyday! But as much as I scream and yell (mostly in my head- but not all the time) I DO LOVE YOU and in those moments when you bring a smile to my face- that smile is HUGE- and it's usually accompanied by a laugh- and that's what gets me through you!

blessings

My sister in law gave me the link to this blog. This woman is amazing. She has been through one of the most trying trials ever imaginable. She is an amazing writer and she uses her writing to get through it! I just wanted to share it with anyone who is interested in being uplifted spritiually and physically.

I need to be better at counting my blessings. I have three children who I love so much despite how hard they can be at times! I have the greatest husband who loves the gospel and loves his family. I have a house in a great neighborhood, perfect for my kids to grow up in with a great ward and many amazing people who surround us. I have an awesome family who are always willing to help (no matter what!)- always looking for needs and ready to fill them! I am very greatful!

cellulitis....and the fourth of July

Well- a lot has happened in the last week....here is an update from most current to the most un-current.
(if that's a word) It's already known that Dave has FAT feet, but this foot is really FAT! We have had a scare this week- On Sunday night Dave got a really high fever- and it wouldn't break, so on Tuesday we finally took him to the doctor when he noticed that his foot was very swollen and red- well, the doctor thinks he has cellulitis- which is some kind of bacteria that gets in the skin- can be life threatening if not taken care of, but I think we caught it in time...anyway, I had to get pictures of his club foot....sorry if you hate feet. (and don't laugh too hard...!)

Dave went to Idaho over the weekend- so to fill the time the boys and I went to Hill Air Force base museum. The boys LOVED it! It was really cool- lots of huge airplanes everywhere and they kept saying, "that's my favorite one, no that's my favorite one..." They were really good and they each got to pick a toy airplane to take home...

Miss Taylor is in town....She seriously is the CUTEST thing ever- I would keep her if I could- She came over to my house and I got to give her, her very first haircut! We should have gotten a shot of the back- Isn't she darling!

The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! On the third we went down to the Centerville bike parade- (always a fun event...!) It was hot and crowded and next time, we will take scooters- not bikes! (too many people, and Austin couldn't ride his bike very well...) But we did have fun! The Fourth of July parade was not as fun as our other fourth's have been, I'm sure it's because I was a slacker and didn't get the matching Old Navy T"s, but whatever, there is always next year right?!- I was kind of disappointed with Kaysville parade- they didn't have any fun floats...but the boys did enjoy getting lots of candy...and sun.... Dax was a trooper...Then we went to Pace's for lunch with Dave's parents and watched the fun fireworks in Celesta's back yard! Happy Fourth of JULY!
